Bracelet

Transcultural Exchange once again becomes the center of an interesting art project.

Reviving the off-the-wall exhibition format TransCultural Exchange is staging a show in which none of the works are on the wall and all of the works will be given away for free. For this year’s Biennale - in honor of the London Biennale’s opening in Paris - the group’s exhibition will be found on their audiences’ wrists. Each participating TransCultural artist has made a unique bracelet that will be given to those who come to St Pancras Railway Station in London at 7:00pm on July 25, 2008 to pick one up and ‘exhibit’ it whenever they wear it thereafter.

On the left you see an image of the bracelet that was created by Naveed. To see it in detail and learn more about it click here >>.

03|May|2008 - Success Story

Naveed Nour and Norbert Francis Attard’s collaborative art project, titled “Malta, a Culture of Conflict”, regarded as one of the top contenders, has been juried into TransCultural Exchange’s worldwide art exhibit entitled “Here, There and Everywhere: Anticipating the Art of the Future” designed to encourage artists to work collaboratively, culminating in a catalog, panel discussion and series of exhibitions radiating out from the Project’s home base in Boston to around the world throughout 2009. Exhibitions of the resultant collaborative projects that include 60 finalists from as many countries will be presented throughout 2009 with a gala presentation of all the venues and projects at TransCultural Exchange’s Conference on International Opportunities in the Arts, April 3-5, 2009 at Boston’s Omni Parker Hotel.
The goal of this project is to expand the artist’s traditional studio practice beyond that of a physically isolated, geographically specific and historically limited enterprise in order to explore new ways of thinking about and making art in the 21st century. It also encourages cross-fertilization and understanding between artists and/or others of different backgrounds, cultures and disciplines. Read more >>
